School Board Policies and Procedures
Things You Should Know The School Board has numerous policies and procedures in place that govern district practices, some of which directly impact our employment. It is incumbent upon our membership to be familiar with them, especially those that deal with personnel.
The Rights and Responsibilities Committee
Addresses Complaints and Grievance Issues Our contract provides that whenever there is a violation of our contract language a grievance may be filed. Check out our Committees to see who is on our R & R Committee. We also have a Complaint Resolution Process defined in our contract (Article XVI, Section C) that protects us from unnecessary, or unjustified criticism, complaints or discipline by supervisory personnel. Check out the details in our Contract.
Building Liaison Network In Place
Association Representation Available Our contract provides that whenever you have a meeting with an administrator, such as your principal, you are entitled to have an ATA representative in attendance. Two people have been identified at each building to serve in that capacity. Check out our Executive Board to see who it is at your building.
Re-certification Process Consolidated
ECS is Up and Running The Illinois State Board of Education has combined their two websites (CeRTS) and (OTIS) into one, the Educator Certification System (ECS) where we can now take care of our certification and certificate renewal process in one location. We can also enter our HQ info.
Convert Sick Days to Personal Days You now have the option to convert a sick day to an additional personal day if you choose to use one of your personal days to observe a religious holiday.
